Five Marketing Tips For Your Small Business

Updated: Jun 7, 2022

If you're a small business owner with little or no experience in marketing, it is essential for you to have the basics nailed down and the best place to start is digital marketing. Digital marketing is a must-have for you to promote your products or services and can work for you even if you have a small budget. But where do you start? I'm bringing you five tips to get you started.

1. Invest in ads

Building organic traffic takes a while so investing in social media ads is a great place to kick start your marketing efforts. With highly targeted ads you'll be able to raise brand awareness and gain interest from your audience even if you only have a very small budget.

2. Use email marketing

According to a recent Hubspot article, 72 percent of millennials prefer communications from businesses to come via email. Email marketing is a very cost effective way of communicating with both existing and new customers but the key is great copy.

3. Create a Google My Business account

This one is particularly important for local businesses as it allows your business to show up on Google Maps and the local section of Google search. And it's completely free!

4. Engage on social media

The key here is to not just share posts on your profile but to engage with likeminded accounts. Think community and collaboration. By increasing social media engagement, you're not only growing your business but also expressing your brand voice.

5. Hire help

Marketing is a full-time job and managing multiple channels at the same time can be overwhelming, so if there are aspects of your marketing that you are unsure about, consider getting help. Small business owners are known for juggling huge amounts of work but hiring a marketing consultant or freelancer can help you free up some of your time that you can spend on the big stuff.
